Hi, I'm Katey and I'm a Brisbane-based children's book illustrator.My artistic passion lies in fairytale and whimsical styles - my mission in life is to bring stories to vibrant, colourful existence. I love collaborating with authors and publishers to create captivating visuals that engage young readers and spark their imagination, and to bring the magic of childhood wonder back to people of all ages.

About
I'm Katey, and I'm the person behind Fae and Fable.
I'm a Brisbane-based illustrator with a background in education and child-care. Throughout my work with little ones, I've always been in awe of their limitless imaginations.
Through my illustrations, I try to captivate that sense of wonder through whimsical and fairytale styles. I work hard to inspire the children I work with to keep the magic of imagination and creativity alive through story-telling and art.My fondest memories as a child are of reading Enid Blyton's Folk of the Faraway Tree, and Magical Wishing Chair series, which has been a huge influence on my art and creativity. I really want to create magic - or as much as I can in the real world!Outside of work, I am an avid book-lover, and I've started designing bookmarks for other fellow book-lovers. I started my Etsy store only very recently, where I plan to expand it to selling art prints and colouring-in pages.
